    Fabric Guide – Our Materials

Every fabric sells differently – and material knowledge is worth real money to you as a boutique buyer: anyone who can explain at the counter why a piece drapes, keeps you warm or comes out of the suitcase wrinkle-free is selling not just a garment but a promise. Here you'll find all the materials in our collections from A to Z – with feel, drape, use, care and a concrete selling point. Every fabric name is clickable: one click shows you all the items made from that material (B2B login required).

    All materials from A–Z

    Bamboo

    Bamboo →

Soft knit made from bamboo viscose, obtained from the cellulose of the bamboo plant. The feel is silky and flowing, the fabric gently hugs the body and drapes softly along the silhouette. Bamboo viscose is breathable and temperature-balancing, warming in cool conditions and cooling in warm ones – ideal for shirts, dresses and close-fitting layering pieces worn directly on the skin. Gentle wash at 30 °C, dry flat or hanging. For your customer, this is the fabric that feels almost like a second skin and stays comfortable all day long.

    Batik

    Batik →

Every piece is one of a kind: hand-dyed gradients and patterns make batik a statement in the layered look. Because no two pieces are alike, your customer is guaranteed to wear something no one else has – a strong selling point against interchangeable mass-produced goods. Wash separately and cold to preserve the character of the colours. The line for your customer: "No second piece is exactly like this one – it's your very own one of a kind."

    Cotton

    Cotton →

The natural all-rounder among fibres: gentle on the skin, breathable and pleasantly hard-wearing. Cotton absorbs moisture well and feels comfortable in every season without scratching. Depending on the weave it drapes softly and fluidly or with a little more body – versatile for blouses, shirts, dresses and easy-going layering pieces. It is robust and forgiving to care for, machine wash up to 40 °C. This is the uncomplicated everyday companion that your customer can wear often without a second thought.

    Bengaline

    Bengaline →

A densely woven quality with a fine crosswise rib and a stretch content. It shapes the silhouette and holds its fit – the first choice for trousers. The stretch content allows freedom of movement without the fabric losing its shape, and the dense weave conceals reliably. That way, a pair of trousers fits just as well after hours as it did when you put it on. The line for your customer: "These trousers hold their shape all day – they don't go baggy at the knees."

    Boucle

    Boucle →

A woven or knitted fabric made from bouclé yarn with characteristic little loops and nubs. The lively, textured surface looks high-quality and charmingly conceals contours rather than emphasising them. Boucle has a pleasant body and structure – ideal for little jackets, waistcoats and structure-giving layering pieces that add substance to a look. Gentle care recommended, ideally hand wash or a wool cycle and dry flat. A fabric that looks upmarket and flatteringly skims the figure – an easy selling point at the counter.

    Boucle Knit

    Boucle Knit →

The knitted version made from bouclé yarn with a particularly cosy, nubby structure and often a fine mélange effect. The knit is soft, warming and stretchy, gently hugs the body and wears comfortably. This makes it the eye-catcher among winter qualities – perfect for jumpers, jackets and warm layers. Best washed gently by hand or on a wool cycle and dried flat. A piece your customer will immediately want to touch – warmth and texture in one.

    Chiffon

    Chiffon →

A gossamer-light, slightly sheer fabric with a fine, grainy feel and a wonderfully flowing drape. Chiffon sways with every movement and layers feather-light without adding bulk. Ideal for elegant blouses, wraps and festive accents in the layered look, happily worn over an opaque base piece. Because the fabric is delicate, a gentle wash in a laundry bag and hang-drying are recommended. With this, your customer adds a light, feminine accent that instantly feels festive.

    Crash

    Crash →

A fabric with a permanently built-in crinkle structure. Lively looks and extremely easy care – ironing is completely unnecessary. The structure is intentional and stays forever, so every piece is ready to wear again right after washing. Crash creates wonderful silhouettes in an oversized cut. The line for your customer: "Here the wrinkles are intentional – just fold it up after washing and put it on."

    Crinkle

    Crinkle →

A lightweight fabric with a fine, permanently set crinkle structure – noticeably more delicate and even than the bolder Crash. The surface looks lively while the fabric stays airy and falls softly into folds. Ideal for summery blouses, tunics and flowing layering pieces that come out of the suitcase wrinkle-free. Ironing is completely unnecessary – after washing, simply pull into shape and let dry. The uncomplicated summer companion your customer wears without an ironing board.

    Crushed

    Crushed →

A fabric with a strongly crushed surface and irregular, lively folds. The expressive structure is intentional and stays permanently, giving every piece an individual character. The fabric is light and easy to wear – lovely for eye-catching blouses, skirts and statement layering pieces. Absolutely forgiving to care for: no ironing, just let dry after washing. A fabric with character, where every fold is part of the design.

    Fine Knit

    Fine Knit →

Fine stitches, a light feel: warms without bulk and combines wonderfully in the layered look. Because it doesn't add bulk, it layers effortlessly under jackets, waistcoats or wraps – the ideal warming middle layer. Gentle wash, dry flat. The line for your customer: "It warms discreetly from within and doesn't add bulk under anything."

    Faux Fur

    Faux Fur →

Fluffy faux fur with plenty of volume and a soft, high-pile surface – entirely without real animal fur. The fabric warms both visually and to the touch and sets an opulent accent that immediately catches the eye. As a waistcoat, collar or jacket it is the statement piece for winter collections and the deliberate counterpoint to flowing layers. Do not wash – best aired out and gently brushed so the pile stays loose. A piece that shines in the shop window and invites the customer to reach out and touch.

    Flannel

    Flannel →

A softly brushed fabric, usually made of cotton and often in a classic check. The lightly brushed surface traps warmth and feels instantly familiar and cosy. Flannel drapes with a little weight and body – ideal for shirt blouses, dresses and warming transitional pieces in the layered look. Easy care in a 30 °C machine wash. The cosy classic that warms on cool days and never goes out of fashion.

    Fleece

    Fleece →

Light, warm and cosy – ideal for jackets and transitional pieces. It dries quickly, doesn't wrinkle and reliably holds its shape even after many washes. The line for your customer: "Light as anything, yet warms instantly – and it's fresh again in no time in the machine."

    French Terry

    French Terry →

It warms gently without adding bulk – ideal for relaxed casual looks, sweat dresses and transitional pieces. Easy care in a 30 °C machine wash and quickly ready to wear again. The comfortable all-rounder for the transitional season that your customer will want to wear constantly.

    Georgette

    Georgette →

A fine, slightly sheer crepe fabric with a dry, grainy feel and a swinging, lively drape. Georgette is a little firmer and more matte than chiffon and moves elegantly without clinging. Ideal for flowing blouses, wraps and festive layering pieces that bring feminine movement to an outfit. Gentle wash recommended, ideally in a laundry bag and dried hanging. A refined choice when it should be light, elegant and full of swing.

    Quilted

    Quilted →

Quilted qualities with light padding between two layers of fabric, held in place by decorative quilting seams. The trapped volume warms, gives the piece structure and stays pleasantly light. The quilting provides shape and a sporty-elegant look – ideal for jackets, waistcoats and transitional pieces. Usually easy care in a 30 °C machine wash. Warmth without weight, with a look that instantly gives an outfit structure.

    Jacquard

    Jacquard →

Woven-in or knitted-in patterns with a textured structure – a high-quality look entirely without printing. Because the pattern is part of the fabric and not printed on, it can neither flake off nor wash out and still looks refined after years. Available in many qualities, from summery light to winter warm. The line for your customer: "The pattern is woven in, not printed – you can see and feel it, and it lasts a garment's lifetime."

    Denim

    Denim →

Lightweight denim qualities made of cotton with that familiar, robust jeans character. The fabric is hard-wearing and airy, often with a little stretch for more freedom of movement. In the layered look, denim comes across as surprisingly feminine – lovely for trousers, dresses, skirts and casual blouses. Best washed inside out at 30 °C in the machine to preserve the colour. The indestructible classic that goes with practically everything.

    Jersey

    Jersey →

A stretchy knit with a soft feel and a high level of comfort. Flowing drape, low-crease, uncomplicated – the workhorse for shirts, dresses and leggings. Jersey forgives fluctuations in figure, can be worn all year round and almost always gets by without an iron, machine wash 30 °C. The line for your customer: "This is the piece you'll reach for again and again – comfortable, easy care and flattering on good days and less good ones alike."

    Jersey Stretch

    Jersey Stretch →

A particularly stretchy jersey quality with a higher elastane content and excellent recovery. The fabric stretches in every direction and reliably returns to its shape without going baggy. It hugs the body comfortably, flatters gently and stays permanently shape-retaining – ideal for close-fitting shirts, dresses and leggings. Easy care in a 30 °C machine wash and usually iron-free. The comfortable fabric that goes along with every movement and still keeps its shape.

    Crepe

    Crepe →

A fabric with a characteristically fine-grained, slightly matte crepe surface. This structure lets the fabric drape softly without adding bulk and makes it wonderfully crease-resistant. Crepe flows elegantly along the silhouette – ideal for blouses, dresses and light layering pieces. Usually easy care on a gentle wash and quickly ready to wear again. A fabric that always looks well-groomed, even when worn all day.

    Leather

    Leather →

A strong leather look with a smooth, matte to slightly glossy surface for striking accent pieces. The fabric has body and gives a look an edge without restricting mobility. Cut slim – as trousers, a skirt or a waistcoat – it is the perfect contrast to voluminous, soft layers. Best just wiped down with a damp cloth rather than washed, so the surface stays beautiful. The edgy counterpart with which your customer grounds a soft look.

    Faux Leather

    Faux Leather →

Vegan faux leather with a modern feel – robust, easy care and a cool break from soft layers. It gets by entirely without animal leather, wipes down easily with a damp cloth and gives every soft layered look an edgy counterpoint. The line for your customer: "With this you bring edge to a soft look – vegan and cared for in no time with a damp cloth."

    Linen

    Linen →

A natural bast fibre from the flax plant with a characterful, slightly irregular structure. Linen cools noticeably on the skin, is highly breathable and becomes softer with every wash – the summer classic par excellence. The fabric drapes with a little weight and body and wears airily, ideal for tunics, trousers and flowing layering pieces. The light creasing is part of the charm; wash gently and iron damp. An honest natural fabric that keeps you cool on hot days and simply looks high-quality.

    Linen Look

    Linen Look →

A lightweight woven fabric with the typical structure of linen, but more crease-resistant and easier to care for. Cool and airy – our most sought-after summer fabric for tunics and balloon shapes. It combines the natural look of real linen with the comfort of an uncomplicated 30 °C machine wash, without the typical linen creasing. The line for your customer: "You get the refined linen look, but you don't have to keep reaching for the iron."

    Memory Taffeta

    Memory Taffeta →

Taffeta with a special memory effect: the fabric remembers intended shapes and lets unwanted creases fall out on their own. Set gathers, volume and structure stay permanently in place, while the fabric still remains light and crisp to the touch. This makes it excellent for shape-giving jackets, skirts and dramatic layered silhouettes. Extremely uncomplicated to care for – creases disappear without ironing. A clever fabric that always looks perfectly shaped, entirely without effort.

    Milano

    Milano →

A dense, smooth knit (Milano knit) with a refined, compact feel and a light body. The fabric is opaque and shape-retaining, stretches discreetly and reliably keeps its shape. The elegant knit that looks like a woven fabric but wears like jersey.

    Mousseline

    Mousseline →

A double-woven muslin with a lightly crinkled surface – feather-light, airy and pleasantly soft. Perfect for summery layers, because it can be worn over itself almost weightlessly without getting warm. The fine crepe structure gives the fabric a lively, matte character. Gentle wash, do not wring. The line for your customer: "So light you'll hardly feel it – ideal for hot days when you still want to look good."

    Mesh

    Mesh →

A sheer mesh fabric with an open, airy grid structure. It is feather-light, often stretches slightly and, worn on top, creates genuine layering effects with depth and interest. Modern polyester qualities are technically highly advanced – this is no longer the polyester of 50 years ago, but today often functional, breathable, shape-retaining and pleasantly high-quality to the touch.
